Wishlist: Rozae by Rozae Nichols

This weekend I was shopping in a boutique and saw these amazing leather/cotton leggings...I am dying for a pair.

As I went through the rack, I realized that I loved quite a few pieces and everything was by one designer: Rozae Nichols. Her eponymous line, Rozae by Rozae Nichols, is full of wearable of-the-moment pieces that are both clever and well-tailored. My wishlist now includes her leather leggings and a dress with antler print and chains dangling from the front.

Fashion Week: Peter Som

The Peter Som presentation at Milk Studios was downtown chic made wearable. I especially loved the spectator sunglasses, print pairings, and the knotted fabric detailing on his dresses...

Fashion Week: 3.1 phillip lim

Phillip Lim made a gorgeous return to the runways with an eclectic and inspiring collection. I now want to wear sheer pants (seen all over the runways this season), gather my hair into a deep part/red barrette, and wear shimmering crop tops. Ok, well maybe not all at once but I can't wait for his looks to hit stores. This may be my favorite show of the week.

Jukebox: YACHT remixes Wolfmother

YACHT's take on Wolfmother's "New Moon Rising" makes an incredible transformation of an otherwise forgettable song. With a much stronger use of melodic instrumental lines, some strategic repetition, and a clap-tastic beat, YACHT has managed to make Wolfmother sound more like a reinterpretation of Beck than their usual Led Zeppelin. It seems as though this ditty was always meant to be a grooving, beat-driven track where discotheque psychedelia could weave around Wolfmother's bread and butter rock n' roll. I'd like to imagine this song made it into one of the DJs hands at fashion week in NYC- it will certainly be playing on repeat in my apartment as I pour over the looks from the spring shows.

Backstage at Fashion Week: Rachel McAdams

Flipping through backstage celebrity photos from inside the tents at Fashion Week, I couldn't help but notice the gorgeous skirt that Rachel McAdams was wearing inside the Alexander Wang show-- a look from the Band of Outsiders Spring 2010 collection. I love the way McAdams has styled the skirt with a large, boxy peacoat and easy up-do.

Fashion Week: Alexander Wang

Fashion week is in full swing here in NYC, which means there are an insurmountable number of beautiful people strutting around the streets in the most fashionable fall looks. More important than the fashion statements being made outside the tents, however, are the trends we will all be dreaming of once winter gives way to spring. Alexander Wang's show was one of the most anticipated of the week, and he did not disappoint. I especially loved the school-girl inspired knee highs and long messy braids that introduced a devil-may-care vibe to Wang's structured silhouettes.

Surround yourself with beautiful things...

I have a hard time finding anything wrong with these shoes, other than maybe the price tag...

Keeping Time...

I love the look of men's watches on women, and am a firm believer in wearing time on your wrist at all times. Michael Kors's new line of watches has the clean lines and chunky appeal that make for a great addition to any look. I'm especially a fan of the gold:

Inspired: Rihanna in Italian Vogue

Now, I might buy American Vogue a little more often if the photo shoots were more like THIS:

Wishlist: verameat

I have been eyeing this verameat ring for quite some time. I certainly wouldn't use the word "pretty" to describe this ring. I mean, a dinosaur eating fried chicken? It doesn't get better than that. . .

best of the best...PERFUME

This Chloe perfume may be the best thing I have ever smelled. I find it to be amazingly feminine, wearable, and chic. Although I don't normally tend towards floral fragrances, Chloe's mix of rose with amber and cedar wood is refreshingly warm in a non-overpowering way. Although the fragrance received some bad reviews when it first appeared in stores last year, I have never received more complements than when I'm wearing it. The scent has become a staple in my collection, being both dressy and sophisticated but still subtle enough to wear day in and day out. I went into Saks looking to smell Marc Jacob's Daisy perfume (a saccharine mix of fruit and sugar- only meant for those under 16). Instead, I left the store with an entire gift set of this fragrance, and I've never been more pleased with a perfume purchase. You can never trust fragrance reviews and although taste in perfume is very personal and individual, I insist you give this perfume a test run the next time you're at Saks Fifth Avenue (the scent's exclusive retailer).

Love this cut

Ashley Olsen in Marie Claire. I'm toying with the idea of chopping my own hair off for this look...

Jukebox: Volcano Choir

Bon Iver is one of my favorite modern bands, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard about Justin Vernon's new project, Volcano Choir. A collaboration between Vernon and Collections of Colonies of Bees, the music is much more experimental and eclectic than Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago. The first single, "Island, IS" immediately caught my attention, so I thought I'd share it here. The song is featured on Volcano Choir's debut, Unmap, due out September 22 via Jagjaguwar (home to some of the best bands around).

Collection Spotlight: Emanuel Ungaro

I don't hear very much about Emanuel Ungaro in the regular fashion resources I read. However, their Fall 09 collection was downright gorgeous, and I can only wish that I will be able to recreate street versions of their looks.

A few of my favorites:
